Catalytic oxidation of CO over Pt/Fe3O4 catalysts: Tuning O2 activation and CO adsorption

• Strong metal-support interaction exists on Pt/Fe₃O₄ catalysts. • Pt metal particles facilitate the formation of oxygen vacancies on Fe₃O₄. • Fe₃O₄ supports enhance the strength of CO adsorption on Pt metal particles. The self-inhibition behavior due to CO poisoning on Pt metal particles strongly impairs the performance of CO oxidation. It is an effective method to use reducible metal oxides for supporting Pt metal particles to avoid self-inhibition and to improve catalytic performance. In this work, we used in situ reductions of chloroplatinic acid on commercial Fe₃O₄ powder to prepare heterogeneous-structured Pt/Fe₃O₄ catalysts in the solution of ethylene glycol. The heterogeneous Pt/Fe₃O₄ catalysts achieved a better catalytic performance of CO oxidation compared with the Fe₃O₄ powder. The temperatures of 50% and 90% CO conversion were achieved above 260°C and 290°C at Pt/Fe₃O₄, respectively. However, they are accomplished on Fe₃O₄ at temperatures higher than 310°C. XRD, XPS, and H₂-TPR results confirmed that the metallic Pt atoms have a strong synergistic interaction with the Fe₃O₄ supports. TGA results and transient DRIFTS results proved that the Pt metal particles facilitate the release of lattice oxygen and the formation of oxygen vacancies on Fe₃O₄. The combined results of O₂-TPD and DRIFTS indicated that the activation step of oxygen molecules at surface oxygen vacancies could potentially be the rate-determining step of the catalytic CO oxidation at Pt/Fe₃O₄ catalysts. The reaction pathway involves a Pt-assisted Mars-van Krevelen (MvK) mechanism.

Effects of reciprocal hybridization on cadmium accumulation in F1 hybrids of two Solanum photeinocarpum ecotypes

In this study, farmland and mining ecotypes of Solanum photeinocarpum (a potential cadmium (Cd) hyperaccumulator plant) were reciprocally hybridized each other, and the Cd accumulation characteristics of the F1 hybrids were studied. In pot experiments, higher biomasses and Cd extraction abilities were found for two S. photeinocarpum F1 hybrids than for the parents, but the Cd contents in various organs were lower in the hybrids than the parents. However, the differences between the Cd contents in the two hybrids were not significant. The antioxidant enzyme (superoxide dismutase and peroxidase) activities were higher for the S. photeinocarpum F1 hybrids than the parents. Less DNA methylation was found in the hybrids than the parents because more demethylation occurred in the hybrids than the parents. The biomass, Cd content, and Cd extraction ability effects in field experiments were similar to the effects in the pot experiments. It was concluded that reciprocally hybridizing different S. photeinocarpum ecotypes improved the ability of S. photeinocarpum to be used to phytoremediate contaminated land.

厌氧膜生物反应器(AnMBRs)不仅可以高效去除污染物,改善出水水质,而且可以实现生物能源回收,对保护环境和缓解能源危机具有重大意义。膜污染作为制约AnMBRs应用与推广的限制因素得到了大量关注,各种缓解和控制膜污染的方法和技术不断涌现。因此,对AnMBRs的运行机理、多元化应用、膜污染情况进行综述,并分析和评估了微生物电催化系统(BES)-AnMBRs组合工艺的可行性和发展潜力,以期为AnMBRs工程应用和未来发展提供理论和技术参考。     

交联剂TAIC反应风险评估分析

利用全自动反应量热仪和绝热加速量热仪等相关实验仪器检测出TAIC(三烯丙基异氰尿酸酯)合成反应的反应热、比热容及热稳定性等数据,依据绝热温升、工艺温度、技术最高温度、最大反应速率到达时间及失控体系可能达到的最高温度这5个温度参数按照评估标准从分解热、严重度、可能性、矩阵、工艺危险度这5个方面分别进行评估。通过对热参数及实验过程进行分析提出降低工艺危险等级的工艺优化方法。根据最终评估结果对TAIC生产装置的安全性进行评价,提出相应的整改措施及建议。
